Iran Says Nuclear Agreement Close Despite Trump’s Military Deadline
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that a diplomatic agreement with the United States is 'at our reach,' despite the increasing military threats from Washington. In an interview with MS NOW, Araghchi denounced the unnecessary U.S. military presence in the area and stated that military attacks would have disastrous international repercussions, especially as President Trump considers limited attacks and has set a 10-to-15-day deadline for a diplomatic agreement. Although the Trump administration has called for the total destruction of Iran's nuclear program in light of the June 2025 joint U.S.-Israeli bombings of Iranian facilities, Araghchi asserts that the U.S. has not formally requested 'zero enrichment' in private talks. The two nations have already reached an understanding on guiding principles, and the next step of negotiations will see Iran present a formal written proposal to U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to finalize the text of a possible agreement.
